Monthly Newsletter
THE LANE LINE
JUNE 2005
Volume 1
Welcome to the first
of hopefully many TAM newsletters to come! In an effort to increase
communication amongst our many members and to keep up with the multiple
athletic and social activities that are generated by our swim club we will try
and publish this newsletter every one or two months. Please feel free to contribute items at any
time.

Nationals
TAM sent a small, but powerful contingent to Short Course
Nationals in Florida
last month. Gary, Nancy, Ken, Rich, Jon, Judy, Jasmine, Walter and
Laura Val took the trip. A wonderful time was had by all and some great races
were swum. We would love to increase the number of swimmers who participate in
meets like this. Please contact Coach
Marie if you might be interested in taking the plunge.
Upcoming Swims
Summer is almost upon us and so is the Long Course and Open
Water Swimming season. TAM will be sending two teams to participate in the
Trans-Tahoe Relay this year. Spring
Lake and Berryessa have
already taken place, but there are many more races to be swum! Carpooling is not only good for the
environment, but let’s you get to know your fellow swimmers. If you are
planning to go to a swim and want to carpool put your name on the bulletin
board at the pool and see if you can find company! Check out the list below to see what’s
coming. More information on all these
swims can be found at www.pacificmasters.org.

August Swim
Schedule
It is never too early to look at your late July and early August
schedule and find time to help cover the pool while Coach Marie is on vacation.
She will be gone in late July through early August. People are needed to open,
close and take care of the pool maintenance while she takes a well-deserved
vacation. Please check the bulletin
Board for sign-ups beginning in July. The only way the pool stays open is if we
all help. Thanks in advance.
Social Events
Bea and Bob Heim are planning a cookout to celebrate their 160
years on the planet together! They will be hosting a party at their home at 87 Chula Vista Drive
in San Rafael on
Saturday, July 17th. There is
a sign-up on the Bulletin Board for anyone who can come. Please sign up by July 1st. Congratulations
to Bea and Bob!
Memorial Service
for Laura Bea
The Memorial Service for Laura Bea White will be on
Saturday, June 25 at 1 pm. The gathering will be at 149 Sequoia Avenue in San Anselmo (her
mother’s home). Please join Laura Bea’s
family in remembrance of her life. Please sign up on the bulletin board. If you
are unable to make this event, but would like to contribute some remembrances
of Laura Bea, please send them to Jessica Jakobi at 160 Meadowcroft Drive, San Anselmo,
CA 94960 or email her at
